Our Work
Our hope is that the studio becomes the artistic home for every young person who truly loves acting. We have seen students grow up at the studio, and make wonderful contributions in film, television, theater, and so many other aspects of life.
Regardless of where their journey takes them, the studio is here to empower them to own their unique voice.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the goal for students at the studio?The studio’s deepest goal is helping young actors becoming comfortable with, and ultimately take ownership of, the full range of who they are. Rather than hiding qualities they think are undesirable or altering themselves for approval, students learn to recognize their own emotions, personality, traits, quirks, imagination, behavior, and individual perspective as creative material. This approach will help develop them both a distinctive artistic voice, and give them greater confidence in life.
What makes our work unique?Whereas a lot of training for young people is primarily external: hitting marks, taking direction, booking tips, and playing the character the “right way” based on the teacher’s interpretation. Our technique, inspired by Stanislavski, begins with the actor working on themselves. Through the use of imagination, exploration, and improvisation students become less manufactured and more responsive, impulsive, specific, and personally connected in their work.
This allows our young artists to give truly distinct and memorable work. Many of our students have made phenomenal contributions in the arts because they have an authentic, original voice that is not merely following the trends.
What does progress look like at the studio?Progress is a student becoming more comfortable expressing themselves in a wider range of roles. Some students enter the studio full of humor, but have a hard time being vulnerable; whereas other students are full of vulnerability, but have a hard time in confrontation. The goal is for students to be able access and express it all: humor, silliness, anger, courage, joy, sadness, excitement, love, fury, and so forth.
Our students have a wide range of personal goals at the studio. We also want to work with each individually to help them realize their personal creative goals.
What do we expect from students? It’s less about what we expect, and more about what students want from their time at the studio. At a minimum we expect all students to show up consistently, prepared, and be open and supportive of each other. For the many students who want to take this further, then it’s important that they work on their creativity on a consistent basis even when not at the studio. There are a variety of exercises, prompts, and material students can work on during the week. Beyond this, students are welcome to use the studios during the week, or before class on the weekends, free of charge. Are there presentations? We do monthly spotlights which is a chance to showcase some of the work students are developing- this may include scene work, poetry reading, classical monologues, or new material they’ve created. These are not designed as a final product, but are a chance for students and families to come together and celebrate some of the work happening. Students are guaranteed to be featured in one spotlight, and can participate in more depending on availability. The instructors will specifically select students for certain spotlights. Saturday students will be in Saturday spotlights, and Sunday students will be in Sunday spotlights. The spotlight dates are as follows. We have been putting in considerable time and effort to expand the training for the students. This is going to be a very special Fall Season, and will be a springboard for so much more versatility, creativity, and great work!
This Fall Season, every month at the studio will bring something completely new. Students will be exploring:
Scene Study/Script Analysis.Understanding what's truly going on in a scene (from films, plays, or commissioned work) by breaking it down, digging into the character, objective, and world of the scene. New Works / On-Camera. Creating original work with the option to bring it in front of a camera. Classics.Expressing the full range of their voice and movement through great works: classical material, musical theater, poetry, songs, works from acclaimed writers such as Tennessee Williams, August Wilson, Samuel Beckett, and more.The actors we most admire do more than make a scene seem believable. They're making bold, specific choices, creating their own opportunities, and expressing themselves fearlessly through voice and movement.
We want our actors to do more than perform a great scene; we want to develop young artists who bring imagination, understanding, and expression to every character, scene, and story they bring to life.

Why the change?We believe it is imperative for students to go beyond focusing on one scene study performance. With the rise of social media, ai, and the many new ways work is being made and distributed, it is more important than ever for young artists to have their own unique, bold, vibrant voice. Beyond giving a good performance, we want to help students unlock their full creative potential.
Does this change tuition/cost?No change at all. And as always, we want to emphasize that we do not want finances to be an impediment for a student being able to continue their training. Just reach out to us.
Does this change how I register?Register the same way. Students will automatically be put in either Scene Study, New Works/On-Camera, or Character Work in the first month.
How is this different than previous sessions?Technique will still be the same, from 2:30-4PM. After the break, students will be doing one of Scene Study, New Works/On-Camera, or Classics each month. So by the end of the session, students will have worked in all three areas.
Will there still be performances?Yes. We will now be spotlighting student work every single month. These Spotlights are evening showcases where students present their work for family and friends, and will include script readings, new material, and performances of classic work.
Spotlight dates are:
