“Acting really—when you’re a kid, I think I was just running on instincts, and being able to follow direction and taking a note. If you could take a note, hit your mark, do all those things, and if you have a natural instinct, then you’re good. Then as you get older, the standard just raises a lot, and it’s less about taking a note and more about what makes you special as an actor.”- Sadie Sink, Teen Vogue Interview
Each of us is special because we have our own unique background, perspective, imagination, and dreams.
Our “artistic voice” is made up of these things.
And so our goal is that each student discover their unique voice, and gain the confidence to fully express it.
.
This comes from exploration, experimentation, and play.
We’ve had students get into great colleges, make huge contributions in film/tv/music, and be the star of their school production.
But this has never been our goal.
This was a by-product of the students having a space to discover their potential by being placed in all different types of characters and situations.
Our goal is that this studio can be their space to be free of worry about achieving, fitting in, or “getting things right”.
